Application Requirements
Before applying, you should:
- Read the application process
- Read the person specification and role description for the Senior Vice President – these will be your immediate duties as Senior Vice President
- Read the role description for the President – you will assume these duties ultimately when you progress to President
- Read the guidance regarding supporters
- Read the guidance on membership checks and background screening.
Your application must include:
- Your evidence-based personal statement explaining how you meet the role criteria
- Your curriculum vitae
- Your signed consent to serve if elected form
- Your signed declaration and disclosure form
- A statement of support from three supporters
All items must be submitted direct to GatenbySanderson.
Eligibility Requirements Application Process
Eligibility to apply for the role of Senior Vice President is limited to members who are either Fellows (FRICS) or Members (MRICS) of the Institution. The Senior Vice President must be a Fellow at the time of assuming office. If a Member is elected to the role who is currently not an FRICS, they will automatically become a Fellow upon election as Senior Vice President.
Please note, however, that the following members may not apply for the role of Senior Vice President:
- Any current member of RICS Governing Council.
- Any member who has unsuccessfully applied for the role of Senior Vice President twice in the previous two years – any such member is not permitted to apply for a further clear two-year period.
